The last tile family I had the pleasure of working on for Gears 5 was Barracks. Our concept team did a great job at finding an art-style that reminded me of some of my favorite fictional environments, among them the gritty sci-fi hallways of the Alien movies. Nevertheless we didn't lose the 'Gears' factor and we expressed this by having towering architectural pieces, massive beams and heavy struts, which makes Barracks feel at home in the Gears Universe.
I worked on a couple medium sized tiles. As always, this was a massive team effort and most assets I used came from a shared library and were not created by myself. Lighting and VFX was also handled by our talented artists at Splash Damage.
